All About Kelly

I was born into a family of Arabian horse breeders, where horses were not just a passion, but a way of life. Our farm, Sierra Vista Arabians, served as the backdrop of my childhood, and by the age of two, I was already showing horses. My competitive career began in 1979, expanding to include Arabian breed shows and 4-H competitions.

I am proud to be the first person in Colorado history to pass all Colorado 4-H State Level IV tests, earning the distinction of Level IV Horse Master. These comprehensive tests spanned multiple disciplines, including showmanship, hunt seat, hunter/jumper, dressage, western, and saddle seat—an experience that shaped my well-rounded and classical approach to horsemanship.

Additionally, I served as a rodeo queen, deepening my appreciation for western heritage, horsemanship, public speaking, and sportsmanship. Today, I enjoy equestrian coaching and judging rodeo queen competitions, helping young women develop confidence, professionalism, and a strong foundation in western tradition.

In 1999, I began my professional career in horse training and teaching riders. Since then, my horses and students have earned local, regional, national, and world championships across a wide range of breeds, including Arabians, Gypsy Vanners, Paints, Pintos, Quarter Horses, Andalusians, Friesians, Peruvian Pasos, and Tennessee Walking Horses. As an experienced horse show judge, I bring fairness, knowledge, and a rider-focused perspective to the arena.

In addition to my training and lesson program, I am a proud co-coach of the Rocky Mountain Wranglers Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team, which was ranked 7th in the nation last year. Coaching youth riders—helping them grow in confidence, skill, and character—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

My heart and soul revolve around horses and the people who love them. It is truly an honor and a privilege to work with such incredible equine athletes and to coach such dedicated, passionate human beings.
